Five generations of experience and progress

We are a family-run company, now led by Dirk Neumayer in its fifth generation. Together with over 320 employees, we research, develop, design, and assemble at the highest level of forging and machining technology. Thanks to our many years of experience, our continuous drive to promote innovation, and our long-standing focus on sustainability, we are a world-leading company in steel processing.

The future builds on its past

In 1867, company founder Richard Neumayer laid the cornerstone for our company, which remains successful to this day. Since then, we have been making history with forming technology. Follow us on our journey from the past to the future.

1867

In 1867, journeyman Richard Neumayer succeeded in joining a forge as a partner in Roveredo (Switzerland/Ticino). On February 1, 1867, he concluded the necessary partnership agreement with Wilhelm Zoppi from Roveredo and Caspar Bosch (1833-1905) from Haslach.

1875

The family of Richard Neumayer Sr. once again turned towards their home in the Kinzig Valley. After a brief but economically successful stay in Altdorf on Lake Lucerne, Richard Neumayer temporarily operated the small rural forge in Gremmelsbach next to the former "Forelle" inn.

1885

As the Gremmelsbach forge quickly proved too small and offered little potential for development in the narrow valley, Richard Neumayer Sr. purchased his fourth forge, the Gutach hammer mill, from Gewerbebank Hornberg on September 22, 1880.

1906

Heinrich Neumayer (1873 - 1963) succeeded his 72-year-old father, Richard Neumayer Sr., who, as the "Neumayer company founder," passed away in Gutach on February 25, 1919, at the age of 85. The picture shows how hydropower was already being used back then.

1940

The third generation: Richard Neumayer Jr. took over the rather craft-oriented forge in Gutach from his father Heinrich Neumayer in 1940. With entrepreneurial foresight, he shaped the difficult phase of reorienting industrial production in the post-war period and the reconstruction of his drop forge, which is still run as a family business today.

1945

After a fire, the company was relocated to Hausach.

1953

Production of flanges begins. In addition to forging, machining is now also carried out.

1975

The fourth generation: Albert Neumayer (1946 - 2021) took over, modernizing and qualifying the company. Albert Neumayer was a quiet patron of the Hausach school center with sculptures by Frieder Haser and of the town hall entrance area with a painting by Herbert Maier. For his services, but above all for his loyalty to the Hausach location, the company owner Mr. Albert Neumayer was honorably awarded the City of Hausach's plate of honor in 2011.
