Five generations of experience and progress

We’re a family-run business, now in its fifth generation and managed by Dirk Neumayer. The company’s 420+ employees work together to research, develop, design and assemble components at the highest levels of forging and machining technology. Thanks to our many years of experience, our constant drive to innovate and our long-standing focus on sustainability, we’re a global leader in steel processing.

Our future is rooted in our origins

In 1867, company founder Richard Neumayer laid the foundation for our company, which is still successful today. Since then, we’ve been making history with forming technology. Come along with us on our journey from the past to the future.

1867

In 1867, Richard Neumayer succeeds in joining a blacksmith's shop as a partner in Roveredo (Switzerland/Ticino). On February 1, 1867, he concluded the necessary partnership agreement with Wilhelm Zoppi from Roveredo and Caspar Bosch (1833-1905) from Haslach.

1875

The family Richard Neumayer oriented itself again towards home in the Kinzigtal. After the short but economically successful stay in Altdorf on Lake Lucerne, Richard Neumayer temporarily operated the small country forge in Gremmelsbach next to the former "Forelle" inn.

1885

Since the Gremmelsbach forge quickly proved to be too small and not very suitable for development in the narrow valley, Richard Neumayer Sen. purchased his fourth forge, the Gutach hammer forge, at an auction from the Hornberg Commercial Bank on September 22, 1880.

1906

Heinrich Neumayer (* 25.06.1873 - + 1963) succeeds his 72-year-old father Richard Neumayer Sr., who died as the "founder of the Neumayer company" on 25.02.1919 in Gutach at the age of 85. The picture shows how water power was already used at that time.

1940

The third generation: Richard Neumayer Jr. took over the rather artisanal forge business in Gutach from his father Heinrich Neumayer in 1940. With entrepreneurial vision, he shaped the difficult phase of reorientation in industrial production in the post-war period and the reconstruction of his drop forge, which continues to be run as a family business.

1945

After a fire, the company moves to Hausach.

1953

Production of flanges begins. In addition to forging, machining is now also carried out.

1975

The fourth generation: Takeover, modernization and qualification of the company by Albert Neumayer (*25.12.46 - +08.05.21). Albert Neumayer was a silent supporter of the Hausach school complex with sculptures by Frieder Haser and of the entrance area of the municipal hall with a painting by Herbert Maier. For his services, but especially for his loyalty to the location Hausach, the company owner Mr. Albert Neumayer was recognized in 2011 with the honorary plate of the city of Hausach.

2000

Commissioning of the first fully automatic press line with 31,500 kN.

2008

Erwin Aberle (*20.11.59 - +20.07.19) becomes co-managing director.

2015

New building and extension for dispatch, logistics, social area, warehouse for forming tools, extension mechanical processing

2017

Takeover of the management of the company by Dirk A. Neumayer in the 5th generation.

2020

New construction for expansion of machining. Investments in energy efficiency generate yearly savings of more than 2 million kWh of electricity.

2021

2022
