NEUMAYER launches pilot project with artificial intelligence
Artificial intelligence is no longer a vision of the future – it is increasingly becoming a strategic tool for industrial companies. When used correctly, it enables more efficient use of knowledge, improves processes, and helps to overcome the shortage of skilled workers. We at NEUMAYER are also taking this approach and have initiated an AI project that is designed to have a long-term impact and is to be implemented gradually throughout the company.
The demands placed on medium-sized production companies are growing continuously – complexity, data volumes and documentation requirements are increasing in parallel. At the same time, human resources are limited. Artificial intelligence can make a valuable contribution here: it frees up time by automating recurring tasks, speeding up internal processes and permanently safeguarding empirical knowledge. It also increases the quality of data-based decisions and creates transparency – a decisive factor in the sustainable optimization of processes. Through the targeted use of AI, we relieve our employees of routine tasks – and thus create scope for creative ideas and innovative developments.
From pilot project to company-wide rollout
To specifically test the potential of the technology, we have defined an initial group of users who will test the AI platform in selected fields of application. In this phase, the system is trained with company-specific data – from technical manuals to internal processes. As soon as it becomes clear that the application provides real benefits in practice, it is gradually introduced in other departments.
It is already clear that the use of artificial intelligence in production, maintenance and administration can bring noticeable relief. Technical information is available on demand, error analysis is faster, collaboration between teams is made easier and even document creation is simplified.
Data sovereignty as a basic requirement
A key criterion for the selection of our technology was full control over our company data. With Vusyon Enterprise, an AI solution based on ChatGPT, we can guarantee exactly that. The data is hosted in Germany, the AI framework is fully GDPR-compliant and allows us to set up our own, data-specific AI assistants for each department. This keeps the know-how protected within the company.
The project is being supported by our regional partner Avenit AG, a digital agency based in Offenburg that specializes in SMEs. The close collaboration ensures that both technological requirements and industry-specific features are considered. For us, this is a crucial success factor, as innovation requires a stable foundation.
