Hausach in the Kinzig Valley – a state-recognized resort town
In the heart of the Black Forest, right in the middle of the Kinzig Valley, directly at the confluence of the Gutach and Kinzig rivers: Hausach's central location is unmistakable. Centuries ago, these geographical factors led to the construction of Husen Castle and the establishment of a customs post at this very spot. Today, they significantly contribute to Hausach's importance as an industrial and commercial center. The ruins remaining from the castle are the town's landmark.
Hausach is located on the world-famous Black Forest Railway, whose construction in 1866 initiated industrial growth. The route is still considered a masterpiece of engineering today.
The network of hiking trails spans 120 km. The "Hausacher Bergsteig" is one of the Black Forest's gourmet trails and is aimed at athletic hikers. The "Adventure Trail," on the other hand, is designed to encourage families with children to get active outdoors. Hausach is a mid-station on the famous "Westweg" hiking trail, which stretches 280 km from Pforzheim to Basel.
Three kindergartens, some offering full-day care including meals and inclusive support, also make Hausach an attractive place to live, especially for families.
A vibrant club life with over 60 Hausach associations offers the opportunity to be active and get involved in the life of the town.
In the immediate vicinity of Hausach, the idyllic, picturesque landscape of the central Black Forest impresses with its typical, charming farmhouses. The famous Black Forest Open-Air Museum "Vogtsbauernhöfe" is less than a 5-minute drive from the town center. French cities like Strasbourg or Switzerland can also be reached in a maximum of 1.5 hours.
