At NEUMAYER, you can find out. As a modern family business based in Hausach, we combine traditional forging craftsmanship with industrial manufacturing, modern technology, and future-oriented topics like sustainability, digitalization, and innovation. We produce components that are later used in vehicles, machinery, and technical applications. And you can experience how industrial production works from day one. <\/p>\n
Currently, 6 apprentices work at NEUMAYER. Each year, 3 to 5 young people start their training with us. We’re particularly pleased that more and more young women are becoming interested in technical professions and consciously choosing to enter the industry. And even after completing your training, the prospects are good: If you successfully finish, you have excellent opportunities\u2014either in the job market or to continue at NEUMAYER and develop your career further. <\/p>\n

Good training requires people who guide you, explain things to you, and support you. That’s why experienced trainers are there for you from the very beginning. <\/p>\n
An important place is our training workshop. Here you can learn at your own pace, practice, and gain practical experience. Digital tools are also part of it: Our apprentices receive tablets, which they use to keep their digital training log and work with in vocational school. <\/p>\n
When exams are coming up, we provide study time during working hours. If additional support is needed, tutoring or courses from the IHK Academy are available. In addition, visits to partner companies and exchanges with other apprentices are part of the training. This way, you not only gain technical knowledge but also develop self-confidence and gradually take on more responsibility. <\/p>\n
Training is an important step. That’s why it’s not just about what you learn, but also how you feel in the company. At NEUMAYER, people from different departments, generations, and nations work together. <\/p>\n
To keep everyone well informed, we use an internal app. Nice break rooms are available for breaks. There are also various meal options, for example through Mr. Lunch and a regional bakery. In everyday life, it’s often these things that help you settle in well. <\/p>\n
Training at NEUMAYER doesn’t just mean watching and following along. You should take responsibility, gain practical experience, and develop your skills. This includes projects that go beyond the normal training routine. <\/p>\n
One example is the apprentice project on heat recovery. It involves reusing the heat from forged parts, for example to preheat spray agents or for hot water preparation. This saves energy and conserves resources. <\/p>\n
Even smaller projects show how much initiative is possible. The forge gets really hot in summer. That’s why our apprentices developed and built a cooling station with fine water mist. An idea became a concrete solution for everyday work. <\/p>\n
Eric<\/em><\/strong>, 19, toolmaker in his 3rd year of apprenticeship<\/p>\n Why did you choose this training?<\/em><\/p>\n Because I enjoy hands-on work and my father also does this job. I had already done a few internships and a summer job at NEUMAYER before. <\/p>\n Your workday looks like this<\/em>:<\/strong> <\/p>\n My work consists of programming or sometimes other tasks. It can be very varied at times. I especially enjoy working on projects. <\/p>\n What surprised you at the beginning at Neumayer? What has been challenging so far? <\/em><\/p>\n I was particularly surprised by the forge, as I had never seen and felt such forces before. Learning to program was challenging for me. <\/p>\n What do you particularly like here?<\/em><\/p>\n What I particularly like is that I get along well with people and can always help if someone needs something.<\/p>\n What do you still want to learn?<\/em><\/p>\n Right now, I’m focusing on my final exams so I can complete them successfully.<\/p>\n What advice do you have for new apprentices?<\/em><\/p>\n If something doesn’t work right away, you shouldn’t give up, but keep trying.
